Hello, dear reader, I would like to begin by introducing myself; I am Antje Dieckman Zallas; I was born in 1980 in San Andrés Tuxtla, a small town in the south of the Mexican state of Veracruz, among warm rains and deep green; I believe my story crosses heritages and cities, my father of German origin rests in Kronberg near Frankfurt and my mother lives in Mexico City; my name Antje (pronounced “entyie”) honors my paternal grandmother, a beloved presence who shaped my character; although I hold a deep affection for my place of origin it was in Mexico City where I put down roots and formed myself, I completed my early studies at the Tomás Alva Edison school in the Benito Juárez neighborhood and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Design and Graphic Communication at the Universidad del Valle de México San Rafael campus, my alma mater.
Since 1999 I have lived in the U.S., first in Houston and then in Defiance, Ohio, a small community from which I have built a solid creative career; today I collaborate as an external creative director with Sixth City in Cleveland and with Linear Creative in Columbus and I advise Teran TBWA, a major advertising agency based in Mexico City; in my daily practice I develop visual and communication strategies aimed at generating real impact, I coordinate multidisciplinary teams, I conceptualize campaigns and accompany each execution phase to ensure messages that are clear, authentic, and effective, a craft that demands strategic thinking, aesthetic sensitivity, and a fine understanding of audience behavior.
I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have experience in photography direction, interactive design, and the construction of comprehensive visual concepts from idea to delivery, yet above technique I value the interpersonal skills that make it possible to lead, negotiate, adapt to changing contexts, and weave relationships of trust with teams and clients; I travel frequently to meet with brands in different cities across the country, that on-site presence sharpens listening, provides context, and broadens my reading of the U.S. market while training me to navigate diverse cultures, working styles, and social realities; I believe in communication as a tool for transformation.
I am a self-taught writer and a tenacious reader, attentive to culture and to nature, for in letters I find a way to honor traditions, connect people, and turn words into action; I have learned that authenticity is the best starting point for any dialogue, project, or bond; being true to oneself is not a gesture of bravery but of truth, and from that truth I choose to work, collaborate, and contribute to the world around me; in academic training, in addition to the UVM San Rafael campus in Design and Graphic Communication I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts BFA with a concentration in Design at the University of Houston and finished the undergraduate marketing program and the MBA in Marketing at The Ohio State University.
My functions as a creative director include brand governance, design of visual systems, preparation of briefs and strategic narrative, omnichannel creative direction that integrates branding, digital content, experience, and print, production supervision and vendor relations, management of budget schedules and risks, definition and reading of performance indicators both creative and business, qualitative and quantitative research for informed decisions, co-creation workshops with clients and teams, leadership and mentoring for talent growth, governance of digital asset libraries with order metadata and traceability, implementation of accessibility and inclusion criteria aligned with international standards, close collaboration with media and performance to align creativity and results, quality-assurance discipline with A/B tests and usability testing, responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and automation tools when they elevate clarity and efficiency, and a testing approach guided by hypotheses metrics and continuous learning.
I hold to a simple and demanding ethic, to work with rigor, to listen carefully, and to decide with discernment; not out of boldness but out of consistency; to be true to myself is not an act of valor but of truth, and from that truth I collaborate with those who seek results with meaning and put creativity at the service of brands and communities with purpose.
Finally, I want to thank you, dear reader, for reading my work; I value the time and attention you have given to each line; if you are ready to begin a shared dialogue, let us take the next step.
AD.
